Position: Intake and Administrative Specialist (IAP)
This position is part-time Monday - Wednesday in person only
Job Description: Intake and Administrative Peer Specialist (IAP) will provide trauma-informed, individualized, intensive supportive services to individuals who facing significant barriers to self-sufficiency, including substance use, mental health, homelessness, and/or involvement with the criminal legal system. The IAP will utilize a participant-centered process to help link participants to housing, health care, mental health, substance use disorder, and other support services to produce more healthy and sustained outcomes. The IAP will work alongside participants, care managers and clinical staff to provide non-clinical connections across all programming, which includes behavioral and physical health services, emergency and long-term housing support, skills training, and employment assistance.

The IAP will work alongside participants, care managers and clinical staff to provide non-clinical connections across all programming, which includes behavioral and physical health services, emergency and long-term housing support, skills training, and employment assistance.
Intake and Administrative Professional is responsible for:
- Open the front office location in the morning and close and lock it according to standard protocol in the afternoons. Hours of operation are 8:30am-5:00pm, closed from 12:00-1:00 for lunch. Closed for major holidays.
- Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately
- Notifies agency personnel of visitor arrival
- Maintains security and telephone systems and responds to phone calls within 24-48 business hours.
- Completing individual program intakes, including initial assessment of needs and development of a comprehensive individualized service plan
- Identifying, prioritizing, and addressing non-medical needs and linking participants to appropriate community resources including, but not limited to, housing, social security, employment, transportation, medical, recreation, social and family supports, nutrition and wellness information and medication.
- Meet with new participants to conduct in-person or over-the-phone intakes and complete required documentation so the participant may begin utilizing services
- Maintaining participant confidentiality
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Attending Empowerment and community meetings to improve service delivery, collaborate services, discuss standards of care, and support community
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Attend continuing education and skill development trainings
- Maintaining Self-Care
- Conduct intakes with new/incoming participants
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Applicable professional or life experience is preferred
- Experience working with a diverse population
- Ability to de-escalate stressful situations with participants dealing with trauma
- Effective Communication and Listening skills
- Microsoft Office Products experience is required
- Previous experience with Electronic health records (EHR) is preferred
