Position: Mental Health Professional: Denver County Jail Women’s R.I.S.E Unit
Job Description: Trauma Therapist conducts trauma education groups, basic intakes, comprehensive intakes (biopsychosocial assessments) and trauma assessments in a recovery unit in Denver County Jail. Therapist is knowledgeable in trauma recovery and the many avenues of healing from trauma and substance use disorder. Therapist utilizes participant centered, trauma informed, harm reduction and strengths-based approaches to empower women incarcerated in Denver County Jail to seek liberation and reduce recidivism.

+ $3,000 for Clinical License (LPC/LCSW)
+ $6,000 for LAC (split $3,000 for CAS/CAT and $3,000 LAC if obtained at different times)
Max salary of $69,000

Therapist is knowledgeable in trauma recovery and the many avenues of healing from trauma and substance use disorder. Therapist utilizes participant centered, trauma informed, harm reduction and strengths-based approaches to empower women incarcerated in Denver County Jail to seek liberation and reduce recidivism.
RISE Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for:
- Understanding and implementing the RISE Scope of Work and completing all required documentation
- Facilitating and co-facilitating groups addressing trauma and substance use disorder with women incarcerated in Denver County Jail
- Creating participant driven treatment and transition plans
- Providing brief therapy, care management and transition planning services for women incarcerated in the Denver County Jail
- Administering informed consent forms, disclosure statements and assessments
- Entering data in compliance with JBBS and OBH standards
- Identifying and connecting participants with appropriate referrals to community mental health and supportive services providers
- Understanding and implementing culturally responsive, gender-responsive, and trauma informed care
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Attending all required meetings
- Obtaining all necessary and required supervision and training
- Maintaining Self-Care
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed (LAC, LPC, LCSW, CAC III) or, on a case-by-case basis, working towards licensure with provided learning plan, and in good standing with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
- Must have reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance
- Working understanding of harm reduction theory and trauma informed services
- Experience working with a diverse population with behavioral health needs
- This position is fully in-person in the jail environment. After 6 months you may be granted 1 work from home day.
